About Layne Linebaugh: From Addiction to Restoration
A Faith-Filled Beginning
I grew up at a time in America when faith and Christianity were commonplace, and I loved Jesus. The Story Bible was one of my favorite books, and I was a faith-filled child. By the time I was 13, I had walked far, far away from God and religion, but thankfully never lost my belief in a Creator — a being more powerful than myself.
The Battle With Addiction
Whether it was anorexia/bulimia, drugs, or alcohol, I truly thought I would die from addiction. I had stopped trying to quit and was only managing the binge-purge pattern. Even back then, for some reason I was instinctively reaching for holistic methods; supplements, detox, and exercise on the in-between days.
Then a Chiropractor using a technique called Network Spinal stepped into my life, and we began to unwind the fight-or-flight tension that was ruling my existence. That was the beginning of a longer journey but it was a very large first step.
Finding My Calling
I spent a few years obsessed with snowboarding and running, and eventually found my way to Chiropractic College where I discovered the brilliance of healing the root cause of health problems versus the band-aid methods of the traditional medical model of symptom and dis-ease care.
Even after graduating and going into private practice, I was still caught in addiction patterns, swinging from one dopamine high to the next for another decade. Let's just say there are times I'm a slow learner.
The Turning Point
I have no idea what was different about the day I determined I couldn't go on one more day — but looking back, I believe that was the day God began walking me on the path to Salvation.
I took time off from healing work to focus on healing myself, diving into a season of restorative therapies, self-inquiry, awareness training, and recovery circles. It was deeply necessary work, and I highly recommend it.
A New Challenge: COVID & Chronic Health Decline
Functional Medicine and Wholistic Healing teach us to look at the whole person; the events, surroundings, and seasons of life that shape our health. I believe COVID-19 was one of those collective events that activated catastrophic health consequences for many, particularly those who had spent years in addictive behavior and unknowingly weakened their systems.
For me, since late 2020, it has been one cold, flu, or sensitivity after another. One mystery intolerance after another, and most recently, serious digestive problems and gallbladder/liver inflammation. Even with my professional background, I didn't fully understand what was happening.
But God.
Healing the Healer
Like so many others in the healing and wholeness fields, God walks us through things so that we can then use them to help others.
One of the core philosophic principles of Chiropractic is:
"The Power That Made the Body Heals the Body."
I believe in prayer and miraculous healing. I also believe that God works through people, plants, and the foods He placed on this Earth, that for every illness or dis-ease, He provided something that makes us whole. We simply have to trust that He will lead us to the right person, product, or podcast, and then allow Him to remove the obstacles in our thinking.
For me, healing came through high-dose Vitamin D3, K, and Zinc to clear the constant colds and sinus infections. Through Functional Medicine methodologies, we are uncovering the root cause of what appears to be an autoimmune issue. And through an elimination diet, the digestive problems are almost completely resolved, revealing the food sensitivities and intolerances that had been silently at play for years.
Has it been easy? No. Not even a little bit. Worth it? Absolutely.

God did not put me, or you, here to be sick, overweight, depressed, and unmotivated. He put us here to help others, for His glory, and to advance His Kingdom.
